The HRB has oversight of accessibility work at the WRDSB. We aim to enhance efforts to fulfill our obligation for non-discrimination of people with disabilities under the Ontario Human Rights Code (OHRC).

Accessibility Committee

Specifically, the HRB works closely with the Accessibility Committee to:

  • Track and report progress in the implementation of the Board’s Multi-Year Accessibility Plan
  • Champion accessibility awareness and leadership on all matters related to accessibility

Professional Development

The HRB engages in ongoing professional development:

  • For compliance with the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA)
  • To improve organizational capacity in evolving accessibility work

The HRB provides an annual report on the progress of the Multi-Year Accessibility Plan to the Board of Trustees every June to encourage accountability and transparency. The report is accessible through the Accessibility Plan page of the WRDSB website.
