The Integrated Arts Program (IAP) at Eastwood Collegiate is a unique and diverse program for students who are passionate about and interested in the Performing (Drama, Dance, Music), Visual, Production, and Media Arts, in addition to the regular secondary school program. Students in the IAP take a combination of Arts courses in grades 9-12, with at least one area of specialization and others in areas that they want to learn more about or explore. Through this integration, students learn how the Arts are interconnected and are meant to mix and mingle. Eastwood’s Arts classes also offer ways to integrate what’s learned in the classroom into real-life experiences, such as performances, exhibits, workshops, clinics, and events within the school and community.

To earn the Arts Endorsement upon graduation, students must fully engage with arts-based school extracurricular clubs or groups all year long, in one of their areas of specialization, for every year they attend the IAP, and must complete 8 Arts credits, including at least one grade 12 course in a chosen area of Arts speciality. Eastwood IAP students pursue a wide variety of post-secondary programs and careers after graduation, including the arts, but also extending to Math, Science, Engineering, Law, and many others, emphasizing the importance of creative and critical thinking skills in many career paths.

The application package for this program is completed in Grade 8 and an audition is required for any area(s) of specialization.
