The WRDSB is so proud of our students who entered the “Artrium” Student Art Display contest at the Education Centre. Each work submitted showed immense talent from our students. We want to congratulate all students that entered this contest for their hard work and dedication!
This year Curry’s Art Store selected Wei Qi, a student at Eastwood Collegiate Institute (ECI) as the winner. Her spectacular painting will be on display at the Education Centre for one year.
The fans have spoken and the People’s Choice winner was the Grade 10 Visual Arts class at Waterloo-Oxford District Secondary School (WODSS) Their amazing artwork will also be on display at the Education Centre.
We want to thank all of our students that submitted an art piece. Student entries included pieces from:
- Karmen Fofana, ECI
- Coralee Benoit, Elmira District Secondary School
- Aj Kobaner, Bluevale Collegiate Institute
- Alexandra Murray, Preston High School
- Ula Qasem, ECI
All the student entries have brightened the halls of the Education Centre and have received much praise from staff and visitors.
We want to thank Curry’s Art Store for their contribution to this project. Entries from the students who were not selected as winners will be displayed at Curry’s Art Store for the summer. Curry’s Art Store also provided recognition gift certificates to all participants in this contest.
We could not be more proud of the hard work that these students put into their art submissions and hope that they continue to follow their dreams of becoming Artists!
