For two weeks, Sir Adam Beck Public School students and staff have come together for the greater good of their community. In support of the Wilmot Family Resource Centre, the school has accepted to take on the Shopping Cart Challenge.

This food drive encourages local schools to fill shopping carts with non-perishable foods, with the overall goal of filling an ambulance. As an incentive, Ritz Printing, a local company, is giving all students free tickets to the New Hamburg Firebirds Thanksgiving Friday Night game!

Sir Adam Beck PS collected approximately 250 pounds of food. Way to go, Chargers!

A big thank you to other WRDSB schools who are also participating in this food drive:

  • Waterloo-Oxford DSS
  • Baden Public School
  • Grandview Public School
  • Forest Glen Public School

Like many local food banks, the Wilmot Family Resource Centre is in desperate need of food donations to help to fill their shelves this holiday season. If you are able, we encourage you to support your local food bank this Thanksgiving weekend and help those in need. Now more than ever, we need to come together and care for one another.
