In 2013, WRDSB Chief Information Officer Mark Carbone participated in various professional development activities as part of the U.S. Department of Education 2013 Connected Educator Month. One of the activities included an opportunity to complete an interview and submit documentation about our Board’s CATC Camp and CATC connections program along with information about the WRDSB Futures Forum Program.

It is exciting to announce that our Board’s submission was selected as an international case study and is published on the US government Tech Ed website as one of six case studies selected.

“The Board recognizes the importance of providing a variety of ongoing professional learning opportunities for staff development. The district’s information technology services department is committed to providing support for teacher growth and development in technology use to support student learning and achievement. This means striving to align technology use with the best instructional and assessment practices, and providing opportunities to help staff become connected educators.” To read the full case study, visit the U.S. Department of Education – Office of Educational Technology.
