In honour of Remembrance Day, Baden Public School is displaying 800 handmade poppies, by recreating the Field of Poppies originally displayed at the Tower of London.

Throughout the morning, the poppies will be ‘planted’ on the front lawn of their school by each student and staff member who made a poppy and kept on display until the end of the school day.

Last week, the teachers, staff, students, EA’s, ECE’s, etc. took part in this initiative by making their own individual poppy – each with its own meaning and story; it was their goal to have every individual in the school create one.

It has been a powerful way for the school community to come together to honour and show their support for those fallen and active-duty soldiers who have defended, and continue to defend for Canada’s peace and freedom.
