May 26-30 is Bike to School Week! This year, the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), in partnership with Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR), and area municipalities, will be participating in this opportunity to highlight the benefits of active transportation.

Cycling to and from school is a great way for students to incorporate healthy and fun activities into their day. Cycling helps to:

  • Boost mental clarity and physical health
  • Create opportunities for community building

Exploring alternatives to vehicle transportation not only boosts well-being, it:

  • Decreases traffic
  • Reduces pollution
  • Creates a safe, active transportation environment around WRDSB schools

While this is only one week of action, we hope it inspires many to choose active travel more often. We hope these efforts will have a ripple effect throughout the rest of the school year and into the future.

How You Can Participate

All WRDSB students, staff and families are welcome to participate in Bike to School Week! Students can visit the STSWR website for more details about how to register for a chance to win a prize. Prizes include:
