Fourteen Grade 12 students from across Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) received the 2023-24 Past-Directors’ Bursary during the WRDSB Board of Trustees meeting on May 27. Each recipient of the bursary will receive $150. The selected students will receive the bursary to support them in pursuing a trade through college or apprenticeship programs.

Chairperson Joanne Weston praised the recipients of the 2023-24 Past-Directors’ Bursary for their commitment to furthering their learning pathways and entering careers in the skilled trades. “I applaud your dedication to pursuing a career in the skilled trades, for which there is a critical need in Ontario,” said Weston. “We are proud of your accomplishments within the WRDSB and we celebrate with you, your families and caregivers and communities as you continue your postsecondary education through college or apprenticeship programs.”
