Region of Waterloo Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at Avenue Road Public School in one classroom.  Last week we informed you of an initial case of COVID-19 at Avenue Road.  

We received a report of an additional case in the classroom cohort which is currently dismissed. Public health will be contacting the classroom cohort that is in an outbreak to provide guidance on the revised self-isolation date.  

No additional classrooms or cohorts will be dismissed. The WRDSB is working with Region of Waterloo Public Health to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in students, staff and the community.

We will continue to take direction from Public Health and will provide further updates as necessary.

Communicating with WRDSB families, students and staff is a guiding principle of our Return to School plans. In accordance with guidance from the Ministry of Education, the Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 page will be updated on an ongoing basis with information regarding confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving a student or staff member in a school setting.
