May CourtThe holiday season is a time for all of us to give thanks and take stock of the things we are grateful for. We are so fortunate to have many community partners helping us ensure that our students have the support they need to learn.

On behalf of Waterloo Region District School Board, I want to express our gratitude for the important outreach activities and fundraising that the May Court Club of Kitchener-Waterloo oversees in this region. I feel a strong connection with the work the May Court Club is doing because of its direct impact on our students. Our student’s well-being is a priority identified in our strategic plan. We believe that we can promote wellness by providing staff and families with the resources they need to support our students. Working with community partners, like the May Court Club, can help us ensure that every child is supported in their learning journey.

May Court’s Food Box Program is one outstanding example of this community support. These emergency food boxes, delivered to schools upon request, contributes greatly to student success. A child cannot learn if they are hungry. Ensuring students have the proper nutrition is a fundamental step to help children learn and reach their potential.

I have had the privilege to meet several May Court Club volunteers. Your spirit and passion is making an important difference in our community. Thank you for supporting us by supporting our children.
