On a cold March day, Bridgeport Public School was dancin’ up a storm inside!

For approximately two weeks before their big dance-a-thon, Bridgeport PS students collected pledges to help off-set the cost of a new projector screen for their gymnasium and to provide additional resources for student learning. The fundraiser was a huge success and the Bridgeport Bears collected $4,075 – wow, fantastic work!

From students to staff, and even the parent volunteers, everyone had a great time at the event.

“We know we have students who have amazing dance moves, but our parent volunteers really showcased their dance moves as well! It truly was a fun time for all,” says Mr. Sherlock, Bridgeport PS principal.

The success of the dance-a-thon would not have been possible without the help and support of all the parents who were able to supervise the dance, and the staff and students for their participation! An extra shoutout goes to their School Council Fundraiser Coordinator Mrs. Yorke and School Council Chairperson Mrs. Rose for the hard work and many hours they put into organizing this fundraiser.

Congratulations to Ms. Crossman’s and Ms. Balesdent’s JK/SK class, and Mr. Read’s Grade 6 class who were the winners of the class pizza party for collecting the most pledges! The school’s grand prize draw winner for the brand new bicycle, donated by Gino’s Pizza, was Lincoln – enjoy that sweet ride!

Lastly, but certainly not least, on behalf of Bridgeport PS and the Board, we’d like thank you to all those who donated funds to help support the growth and learning at Bridgeport PS! Your support will truly make a difference.
