As winter came to an end, Lackner Woods Public School made sure to send it off with a fun recreation of Carnaval d’Hiver.
Leading up to their outdoor event, students in all grades learned about the original and nationally known Carnaval de Québec – its history, traditional winter activities, and the significance the event has on Québec City. Throughout the learning process, staff and students enjoyed classroom visits from Bonhomme Carnaval, built an ice palace in the lobby of the school, and were served warm crêpes. The grand finale was an outdoor Carnaval playday and hot chocolate for everyone.
It was a great day, enjoyed by all – Vive le carnaval!
