Before the holiday break, staff and students at Manchester Public School raised $1,000 to World Vision Canada to help support the incoming Syrian refugees. The money was collected through various fundraising efforts, such as a cake walk and staff potluck lunch.
The Government of Canada will match their donation, which will have a significant impact of the lives of our new families.
In addition, Manchester PS will be hosting a food drive later this month, with all proceeds going to to the Cambridge Self-Help Food Bank, to further support the incoming Syrian refugees.
A huge thank you for all the families who participated – your generous support is appreciated and a true testament to who we are as Canadians!
