After a year of fundraising through direct donations from parents, grandparents, neighbours and community businesses, book fairs, movies nights, pretzel and poinsettia sales, theatre trips and Tuesday night dinners, Lexington Public School and its school community celebrated the grand opening of their new play structure!

As a replacement of the old, worn out play set, this new, safe and fun play structure not only will be enjoyed by the students, but by the surrounding community throughout the year.

A huge thank you to Morty’s Pub for hosting Tuesday night dinners! Lexington PS partnered with Morty’s Pub to help raise the final funds needed for the new play structure. So, every Tuesday night in May, Morty’s donated 15% of all sales, between 5-9 p.m., to the school. It was the highlight of the week for many Lexington PS families! To show their appreciation in a special way, Lexington PS invited Jay Taylor, owner of Morty’s, to cut the ribbon. Mrs. Chisamore, who represented the amazing staff/parent playground committee, also cut the ribbon!

The rain held off and the ice cream was cold as families enjoyed the celebration!

Thumbs up for the new play structure!
