Mandatory Human Rights @ WRDSB Online Training

At the start of the 2022-2023 school year, all staff were required to complete the Human Rights @ WRDSB training. This was offered through the staff virtual learning environment. This training was created by the Human Rights Branch (HRB) and focused on the Code familiarized staff with their rights and responsibilities as outlined in Board Policy 1017 – Human Rights. In total, 7,500 board employees completed the training in the 2022-2023 school year.  

Presentations, Workshops and Trainings

The HRB offers training for WRDSB departments who identify opportunities for increased learning on context specific human rights topics. In the 2022-2023 school year the HRB facilitated training for the following groups:

  • Business Services Leadership Team Members
  • System Leaders
  • Retired Administrators 
  • Current Administrators and Managers
  • Managers, Special Education Consultants 
  • Elementary and Secondary Secretaries 
  • New Administrators
  • Secondary Guidance Department Heads
  • School staff – facilitating training at staff meetings (various sites)
  • Learning Support Services Consultants

During the 2022-2023 school year, over 280 staff members attended training sessions, workshops, and presentations directly created and facilitated by the HRB.
