Meet your Student Trustees
For the 2017-18 school year, our student trustees are:
ROLE: Student Trustee
SCHOOL: Forest Heights Collegiate Institute
I am a Grade 12 student at Forest Heights Collegiate Institute in Kitchener. I’m committed to using my last year in the WRDSB to make the school experience as good as possible for current and future students. In the past I’ve been involved in volunteer groups both within and outside of school. My ultimate objective in being a school board trustee is to reduce the feeling the feelings of disconnection between students and the Board, and to make the best impacts possible to the ground-level experiences of every single student.
ROLE: Student Trustee
SCHOOL: Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute
I currently attend Cameron Heights Collegiate Institute for my senior year in the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. I am an active member of Cameron’s Music Ensembles, Debate Team, Student Council and Science Club. This year, I’ve had the joy of becoming an ambassador for the Federation of Canadian Secondary Students – Fédération des Élèves du Secondaire au Canada! I sincerely care about the community, and I’m honoured to serve as one of the Student Trustees for the Waterloo Region District School Board. I believe that through my experiences within Cameron Heights and the community I have acquired the skills and experiences that will allow me to represent the students of our school board.
Our school board focuses on the student’s well-being, and I am looking forward to serving the students while empowering the student body. I am incredibly looking forward to the Student Senate! Through the Senate, I will work with the students from other schools as we represent the voices of the study body. My goal is to expand the Student Senate so that it hears from all voices across the school board and to establish a diverse group of students. The Waterloo Region District School Board provides an inclusive, caring and passionate environment for their students. I see it as my responsibility to represent the student body in a way in which the students feel valued. I will do everything I can to make the students feel heard within their school board and act upon their concerns and opinions. I’m looking forward to a wonderful year.
