This week is Crossing Guard Appreciation Week!

Crossing Guards ensure the safety of our students and their families as they cross the street, going above and beyond to make sure everyone arrives at school safely. These dedicated individuals not only know every student who crosses at their location but also their families, making them an integral part of our school communities.

Each and every school day, these safety-focused monitors provide strong guidance, bright smiles, and greater visibility for students, setting them up for successful school days. They are a vital part of our school communities and act as trustworthy adults in times of need.

To help make our Crossing Guards feel extra special today, we encourage our elementary schools, students and families to give their Crossing Guards a warm thank you and tell them how much they are appreciated.

No matter the weather or temperature, you will always see our Crossing Guards at their crosswalks waiting to greet and cross pedestrians Monday to Friday!

Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR) also has a printable thank you card that you can give to your crossing guard as a thank you!
