Our Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) is looking for new community members for the 2021-22 school year. We invite Waterloo Region residents to apply.

this is not an application to apply for school council. Please contact your child’s school administrator if you want to be on your child’s school council.

As a PIC member, you have an opportunity to strengthen partnership in education and be part of a group that helps each student achieve their full potential.

Whether you are from Kitchener, Waterloo, Cambridge, or one of the Townships, we would like PIC to be representative of the students and families we serve. We also strongly encourage Indigenous, Black and racialized parents/caregivers, newcomers and parents/caregivers of diverse communities to get involved.

The committee meets six times a year, and consists of parent volunteers and school board staff, including the director of education, trustees, school administrators, and other community members. The role of the committee is to help inform school board staff on policies and issues that concern families. Members also organize activities to help families support their child’s learning at home and school. Members are encouraged to participate in at least one of the PIC working groups. These include, but are not limited to:

  • Parents Reaching Out (PRO) Grant event
  • Safe, Caring & Inclusive School (SCIS)
  • Governance

Interested community members can find more information about PIC at www.wrdsb.ca/pic.

The deadline is Tuesday, November 30.

Thank you for your interest in becoming a member of PIC.
