We have extended the deadline for graduates to register for their virtual Commencement ceremony to Thursday, November 19 by 4pm. The opportunity to purchase a souvenir package (gown, cap, tassel and year charm) is now closed.

Commencement Registration

Graduates interested in participating in any of their school’s Commencement activities must fill out their school’s registration form.

The information requested will help your school communicate the details of when to pick up your Graduation Package. They will also send you the login information for your virtual Commencement ceremony, which is being held on Friday, November 27 at 7pm. We encourage you to share the ceremony information with your family and friends so they can celebrate your achievement with you!

Since many of our graduates are now 18 years of age or older, our schools also need to verify how to communicate Commencement updates with you. Please fill out your school’s Commencement registration form by Thursday, November 19 by 4pm.

Graduation Package Pick-Up

In addition to the Board-wide “Grad Night” on Friday, November 27 at 7pm, our high schools will also be arranging a Graduation Package Pick-Up opportunity the week of November 23 to 27, 2020.

The Graduation Package Pick-Up is a time for graduates, or a designate, to individually pick up their diploma, any awards they have received, a Commencement ceremony program, and, if purchased, a Graduation Souvenir Package, which includes a gown, cap, tassel and year charm in your school colours.

School-specific details regarding time, date and location will be released at a later date. Stay tuned for that information on your school website and social media channels.

Safety

We want to reiterate that this is not how we anticipated celebrating our graduating class of 2020. However, we must follow the current COVID-19 government and public health restrictions on social gatherings, which does not make an in-person celebration possible. A virtual Commencement allows everyone, equitably, to attend and celebrate our graduates’ special day. A virtual Commencement ceremony eliminates health concerns, travel barriers and allows more family and friends to participate without the extra cost or risk.

Keeping students and families safe is our top priority and our planned virtual Commencement is our way to show our graduates and families that we can still celebrate this wonderful milestone together.
