With the sun shining and the parking lot full, Queensmount Senior Public School had a tremendous turnout at its 50th Anniversary open house over the weekend. Staff, students and families from past and present filled the gymnasium and hallways, as more than 250 people came out to eat cake, laugh, and remember the glory days they had at their senior elementary school.

To kick-off the open house, WRDSB Chairperson Kathleen Woodcock and Queensmount Senior PS Principal Kristin Phillips gave a welcoming address, and City of Kitchener Councillor Zyg Janecki presented the school with a City of Kitchener milestone certificate.

The celebration brought generations together as they reminisced about their time. It’s wonderful times like these that reconnects old friends, and teachers who made a difference in the lives of their students.

A big thank you to the 50th anniversary committee for doing an outstanding job of bringing decades of pictures and memories together! On the other hand, the anniversary committee would like to thank everyone who shared their time and lent memorabilia.

If you haven’t yet, be sure to follow @QueensmountSPS on Twitter and send them your best wishes.

Happy 50th Anniversary, Queensmount Senior PS!
