Waterloo Regional Police have escorted students from Tait Street Public School to St. Thomas Anglican Church, after a downed hydro line knocked out power to the school and surrounding homes. The outage happened when a garbage truck struck a pole.

Parents can pick up their children from St. Thomas Anglican Church, at the corner of Tait and Francis street.
