We are aware of the recent incident that happened at the Kitchener Synagogue and although it is still under investigation by the Waterloo Regional Police Service, we wanted to share our concern as well as our support for Jewish students, staff and families in Waterloo Region.

We understand that this incident is upsetting and has caused harm to the Jewish community. We want to reassure students, staff and families that support is available. If a student is in need of additional support, families can reach out to their principal, their teacher, or another trusted adult for support.

While we cannot speak to the police investigation, we want to reaffirm our commitment to the safety of all those in Waterloo Region District School Board. Our priority is ensuring that our schools are safe and welcoming places where students and staff experience a caring learning environment that addresses their well-being.
