Optimizing Learning Through Play-Based Delivery in Full Day Kindergarten (Verbal Report)
Superintendent Diane DeCoene provided an example of how play-based learning supported kindergarten students at one school to plan and ultimately make an outdoor mini-hockey rink for junior and senior kindergarten students. DeCoene provided insight into how the teacher used the student’s enthusiasm about the project to bring literacy, numeracy, equity and inclusion, and many other aspects of learning to support and optimize learning for the kindergarteners.
