2013-2014 Budget Introduction (For Information)

This evening’s presentation provided trustees with a high-level summary of factors affecting our budget including enrolment, grant revenues and expenditures, as well as the next steps to finalizing the Boards’ 2013-2014 budget.

School boards are required to have balanced budgets as defined by the Ministry. The current status (June 1, 2013) of the WRDSB’s budget is a deficit of $4.3M. Executive Council continues to review our budget to seek areas where efficiencies can be gained and risks can be mitigated.

Engagement Strategy – Interim Report (For Information)

The purpose of this report is to provide an interim report to trustees regarding the status of the development of the Board’s Engagement Strategy and Plan.

In 2012, the Board approved one-time funding to procure the services of a consulting firm through a Request for Proposal process. The consultants reviewed the work to-date, providing high-level results of the information gathered through 14 stakeholder focus groups and an on-line survey.
