This study officially concluded on April 29, 2019.

On April 29, 2019, Trustees approved an attendance area change for students in the Abraham Erb Public School boundary.

All Grade 6 students graduating from Abraham Erb Public School will attend Laurelwood Public School for Grades 7 and 8 starting this September 2019.

There are two parts to this boundary change:
1. Effective September 2019, students graduating from Abraham Erb Public School will attend Laurelwood Public School for Grades 7 and 8.
2. Students currently attending Vista Hills Public School may remain there for Grade 8 during the 2019/2020 school year (one year only), with busing.

Study Purpose

At the November 12, 2018 Committee of the Whole meeting of the Waterloo Region District School Board, Trustees approved in principle the start of a boundary study involving Abraham Erb, Laurelwood and Vista Hills Public Schools.

The West Waterloo Elementary Schools Boundary Study, completed in 2015, recommended a second phase be implemented between December 2018 and 2020 through the completion of a new boundary study. This phase would consider redirecting Abraham Erb Public School area Grade 7 and 8 students to Laurelwood Public School, and reduce enrolment pressures at Vista Hills Public School.

The primary purpose of this new Boundary Study is to consider implementing Phase 2 in order to reduce current enrolment pressure at Vista Hills Public School. Please review the initial report for more information on the Boundary Study

Study area

The study area includes Abraham Erb Public School, Laurelwood Public School and Vista Hills Public School boundaries.
