The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) has concluded the New Southeast Cambridge Elementary School Boundary Review. Trustees endorsed the recommendations of the Final Report at the Business Services Steering Committee meeting on Monday, December 8, 2025. The decision was ratified at the Board Meeting on December 15, 2025.

The primary purpose of this Boundary Review was to establish an attendance area boundary for a new school, under construction at 605 Wesley Boulevard in the City of Cambridge. The school is scheduled to open in September 2026.

These changes will take effect beginning September 2026.

Summary of Approved Changes

The school boundary changes approved by the Board of Trustees will:

  • Redirect part of the Chalmers Street PS boundary (northeast of Dundas St S) and several Development Areas to the new school.
  • Redirect part of the Chalmers Street PS boundary (Champlain Road, Azores Crescent, Fatima Crescent) to Moffat Creek PS.
  • Moffat Creek PS students moving into Grade 8 in September 2026 will remain at the school for the 2026-2027 school year
