Trustees approve elementary school name for 80 Tartan Avenue in Kitchener.

This study officially concluded on January 24, 2022.

Study Purpose

At the May 17, 2021 Committee of the Whole meeting of the Waterloo Region District School Board, Trustees approved in principle the start of a boundary study involving Jean Steckle Public School, Janet Metcalfe Public School, Southridge Public School and Laurentian Public School.

This Boundary Study is a continuation of the Fischer-Hallman Huron Elementary Schools Boundary Study (Part I), where an attendance area boundary was established for the new Janet Metcalfe Public School, amongst other changes.

The primary purpose of this new Boundary Study is to establish an attendance area boundary for a new school being constructed at 80 Tartan Ave. in the City of Kitchener.  The school is tentatively scheduled to open in September 2022.

The study area includes Jean Steckle Public School, Janet Metcalfe Public School, Southridge Public School and Laurentian Public School
