Students from across the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) visited Wilfrid Laurier University to attend the “Diversity in Teaching” event. This event brought together aspiring educators and education leaders to explore pathways into teaching and the importance of equity and diverse representation in classrooms.

As part of the event attendees had the opportunity to engage in meaningful conversations with experts, including Vinay Tiwari, System Administrator Equity and Inclusive Education, and Jamila Maliha, Superintendent of Student Achievement and Well-Being.

They shared insights on teaching careers, strategies for fostering inclusive learning environments, and the critical role diversity plays in shaping tomorrow’s educators.
This collaborative event highlights the power of partnerships in creating a teaching workforce that reflects and supports all students. It also provides opportunities for students to explore potential career pathways.
