Region of Waterloo Public Health has declared a COVID-19 outbreak at William G Davis Public School. Public Health has identified an additional positive case, a student, who was dismissed and asked to isolate as a result of a confirmed positive case at the school last week.

Public health will be contacting the classroom cohort that is in an outbreak to provide guidance on the revised self-isolation date.

No additional classrooms or cohorts will be dismissed. The WRDSB is working with Region of Waterloo Public Health to prevent further spread of COVID-19 in students, staff and the community.

School outbreaks are defined as two or more confirmed cases in a school with an epidemiological link, within a 14 day period, where at least one case could have reasonably acquired their infection in the school (including transportation and before/after school care). An outbreak is declared in the absence of any other likely conclusion or link to any other case.

We will continue to take direction from Public Health and will provide further updates as necessary.

Communicating with WRDSB families, students and staff is a guiding principle of our Return to School plans. In accordance with guidance from the Ministry of Education, the Confirmed Cases of COVID-19 page will be updated on an ongoing basis with information regarding confirmed cases of COVID-19 involving a student or staff member in a school setting.

We thank you for your continued support during this time.
