Dear WRDSB families, 

Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) believes in the educational value of international travel while keeping the safety of students and staff our top priority. The spread of COVID-19 (Coronavirus) continues around the world, with a rising number of confirmed cases, leading to heightened concerns regarding international travel.

With the current travel advisories and daily public health information updates, WRDSB has decided to cancel the three trips to Europe scheduled for March 2020.  There are no other international school trips planned during March 2020.   

The safety of our students and staff is at the forefront of every decision we make. While this was not an easy decision for us, we cannot ignore the global impact of COVID-19, and must take the necessary steps to ensure the safety of our staff and students.

We will continue to monitor the spread of COVID-19 and communicate any updates to families as they become available.
