The Free the Children We Scare Hunger campaign has become an annual event at Bridgeport Public School, and this year Mr. Read and his Grade 6 class set a goal of collecting over 1000 lbs. of  food for The Food Bank of Waterloo Region.

They challenged classes throughout the school to collect as much as they could throughout the week leading up to Halloween. Students collected food item donations as they went trick-or-treating on Halloween.

After final count, the Bears are very proud to have exceeded their goal by collecting over 1300 lbs. of food items. Way to go, Bears!

This is what 1300 lbs. of food donations looks like.
