Parents, families and caregivers are invited to attend a Parent Information Night hosted by the Parent Involvement Committee (PIC) of the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB).
Let Grow Panel Discussion
This session will focus on the Let Grow initiative currently being piloted in select WRDSB schools. Let Grow encourages students to build independence, responsibility, and confidence through real-world experiences.
- When: Wednesday, April 15, 2026 from 6 to 8 p.m.
- Where: Forest Heights Collegiate Institute at 255 Fischer-Hallman Rd, Kitchener, ON N2M 4X8 (Google Maps)
The evening will feature a moderated panel discussion with board representatives and educators involved in the pilot, followed by a question and answer period.
Topics will include:
- The philosophy behind Let Grow
- The need the program is addressing
- What the pilot looks like in practice
- How families can support independence at home
Snacks including pizza will be provided.
Register to Attend (Deadline to Register is Thursday April 9, 2026)
Childcare Available
Free on-site childcare will be provided for registered families.
Two options will be available:
- Let Grow Play Club (supervised free play in the gym)
- Quiet Movie Room
Children must be signed in and signed out by a parent or guardian. Advance registration is required to access childcare to ensure appropriate supervision and space planning. Please bring indoor running shoes.
