The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is inviting local businesses, organizations, and community leaders to support secondary school students by providing co-op placements this July.
These placements are essential for many students who are completing programs such as Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) or the Ontario Youth Apprenticeship Program (OYAP), or who are unable to participate during the school year.
Co-op offers students meaningful, hands-on learning experiences while allowing them to earn credits toward their diploma. Employers receive valuable support from motivated students and can contribute directly to youth success in the region.
Benefits of Hosting a Co-op Student
- Access to future talent
- Additional support with day-to-day operations
- Promotion of community engagement and youth development
- Showcasing your organization’s values and commitment to education
Who Should Get Involved
Any organization across the Waterloo Region from trades and tech to arts, business, and non-profits. If you’ve never hosted a co-op student before, this is your chance to explore what’s possible.
