January 16th, 2023
Starting January 16, parents and caregivers can register their child(ren) for the dynamic and exciting journey of kindergarten in the Waterloo Region District School Board!
At the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), we want to assure families that their children will receive an education that will support them in reaching their full potential from kindergarten to graduation. We are committed to providing a welcoming, secure, respectful and nurturing environment, where students feel a sense of belonging and connection through varied experiences.
The purpose of Kindergarten is to help build a strong foundation for learning in a safe and caring play-based environment. Kindergarten marks the beginning of a child’s formal education. It is an important time for students to develop fundamental skills in areas such as literacy, numeracy, and social-emotional development.
Who can register for Kindergarten?
Children born in 2019 are eligible for Junior Kindergarten, and children born in 2018 are eligible for Senior Kindergarten. If your child is already enrolled in Junior Kindergarten, you do not need to register again.
