Grade 10, 11 and non-graduating Grade 12 students

The Ministry of Education is resuming the Ontario Secondary School Literacy Test (OSSLT) and literacy requirements for graduation this year. Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) students can complete these this spring.

For In-Person Students

Grade 10, 11 and non-graduating Grade 12 students learning in-person will be able to complete the OSSLT on Thursday, May 5 at school.

Thursday, May 5 is a blended learning day. Secondary students who are writing the OSSLT will attend in-person. The remaining secondary students will learn asynchronously from home. Students in ACE classrooms will attend in-person.

For Remote Learning Students

Secondary Remote Learning Program (SRLP) students will not write the OSSLT this school year. The Ministry of Education requires students writing the OSSLT to do so in-person. See our message from October 2021 for more information.

Adjudication Process

Grade 11 and non-graduating Grade 12 remote learning students may take part in an adjudication process on Thursday, May 5. This would allow them to complete their literacy requirement. Teachers and guidance staff will provide more information on this option.
