The Waterloo Region District School Board remains committed to providing a world-class public education to all of the nearly 65,000 students who attend our schools.

Students remain our top priority and we take pride in welcoming them into the safe, supportive learning environments created by our dedicated administrators, teachers and education support staff.

The past few months have proven challenging for all of us, however, we are committed to continuing our support for students, families and staff throughout the process.

The Board of Trustees, like the majority of Ontarians, believes that education spending should be a priority and necessary investment for the future success of our Province.  Our teachers and educational workers are an integral part of this success as they influence a positive and productive learning environment for our students.

We will continue to advocate and work with all of our partners and hope for a swift resolution.  We are looking forward to everyone getting back to the table to continue the bargaining process as they work toward a deal that is fair, equitable, and responsible for all parties, most importantly our students.

Jayne Herring,
Chairperson of the Waterloo Region District School Board
