Review Decision
Trustees endorsed the recommendations of the Final Report at the Committee of the Whole meeting on Monday, December 9, 2024. The decision was approved at the Board Meeting on December 16, 2024. The recommendations can be found on page 24 of the Final Report.
The New School will open JK-7 in 2025/26 and will be JK-8 in 2026/27. The new boundaries impact Groh PS, Brigadoon PS and Pioneer Park PS.

Background
On Wednesday, April 24, 2024, at a Board Meeting of the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB), Trustees approved the initiation of a boundary review involving:
- Brigadoon Public School
- Doon Public School
- Groh Public School
- JW Gerth Public School
- Pioneer Park Public School
Review Purpose
The primary purpose of this boundary review is to establish an attendance area boundary for a new school planned to be constructed at 670 Thomas Slee Drive in the City of Kitchener. The school is tentatively scheduled to open in September 2025.
There will be no changes before June 2025.

Feedback and Frequently Asked Questions
Feedback will be shared with the Boundary Review Committee for consideration. Feedback will be collected for consideration in the final report until December 2, 2024.

Two public information sessions will be held during the boundary review process. Information presented at these sessions will also be posted on this web page.
Public Information Session #2 – Thursday, October 24, 2024
The purpose of this meeting is to:
- Share the status of the Boundary Review Committee work
- Share the proposed scenario, including maps, enrolment projections and implications
- Remind attendees about the next steps and remaining opportunities to get involved
- Share the dates for a final decision
- Obtain feedback

Public Information Session #1 – May 1, 2024
