We have a face to face drop off and pickup protocol.
Each school has a dedicated Extended Day entrance designated for drop off and pick up. Please ring the extended day intercom and educators will let you in to sign children in or out of the program. There will be signage at the main entrance indicating where the extended day entrance is.
Absences
If you know your child will be absent for a day or part of the day that will impact the Extended Day Program, please notify the on-site educator of any upcoming absences. If you notify the school attendance line that your child will be absent there is no further follow up required. Fees are not waived for absences in accordance with our financial policy as outlined in our parent handbook.
Drop Off
We have a face-to-face drop-off and pick-up practice. This means you must enter the classroom to drop off or pick up your child.
Families must connect directly with staff each morning. Please greet the educator so staff can record your child’s attendance.
Thank you for helping us maintain accurate attendance and a safe environment for all children.
If unforeseen circumstances occur (such as inclement weather) where the educator is not present when the program opens, parents must remain with their children until the educator arrives.
If your child is not attending the program in the morning, they will be marked absent from the program. Please follow the standard procedure for notifying the school of your child’s absence.
Pick Up
Families must connect directly with staff before leaving. Please check in with the educator so staff can safely sign your child out.
Safe arrival procedures for children who are registered in the Extended Day Program in the afternoons are vital and educators take attendance within the first five minutes of the school dismissal bell. Extended Day Program staff will verify with the school office any children who are absent from the program on a scheduled day or who are unaccounted for. If your child is registered for the after school program, educators must follow the safe dismissal policy and dismiss your child to the after school program at the end of the day. Please do not make alternate arrangements to send them on the bus.
Individuals should be prepared to show photo identification when picking up child(ren) from the program (authorized emergency contacts for example). No child will be released to an individual that is not an authorized pick up on the OneList contact section of your child’s account.
