We are currently in the process of notifying families of their placements in Grade 2 French immersion classes for the 2024/2025 school year. If you applied for French immersion, please check your email for a message from noreply@wrdsb.ca.

Here are a few answers to your frequently asked questions:

My child was accepted; now what?

Please confirm or decline your acceptance using the email sent. If we do not receive your confirmation within 10 business days, your spot will be given to someone on the waiting list. If you are declining, please indicate why. If you are declining but want to remain on a waiting list for another school, please note that in your comments.

My child wasn’t accepted at our top choice; is this a mistake?

We have a limited number of spaces available at each school. We will always try to accommodate students at their Home School first. If more applicants than spaces were available, students were placed in a lottery for the available spots. Those who ended up on waiting lists were placed at their next highest priority school (if alternatives were chosen). If you accept your position at the school where you were placed, your child will remain on the waiting list for their Home School and/or an Alternative School. Should a position open up at your Home School (or 1st/2nd Alternative School), we will contact you by e-mail to determine if you would like to accept that spot. We will continue to place students until mid-September 2024.

My child is on a waiting list; now what?

If someone who was offered a spot declines, we will contact students on waiting lists to fill those spots. Students may remain on up to 3 waiting lists to increase their chances of getting in. Should a position open up at one of your choices, we will contact you by e-mail to determine if you would like to accept that position. We will continue to place students until mid-September 2024.

Additional information about waiting lists is available on our website.

I applied for French immersion but am still waiting to receive something.

We are working through our notifications, so please be patient. Sometimes emails go directly to spam folders, so please check there. We are notifying students on class lists first. Waiting list students will be contacted second.
