On Monday, September 15, 2025, at a Business Services Standing Committee, Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) Trustees will receive a report requesting that a boundary review process be approved that will include the following schools:
- Chalmers Street Public School
- Moffat Creek Public School
Staff are requesting this boundary review to support the opening of a new JK-8 school in Southeast Cambridge. On Monday, September 29, 2025, Trustees may ratify the decision to start the boundary review during the Board Meeting.
The full report to the trustees is available on the September 15, 2026, Business Services Standing Meeting agenda.
The Board of Trustees is the ultimate approval body for any formal boundary change. If the Board of Trustees approves a change, students who live within the new school boundary will receive a communication from the Board with further information about next steps. Regardless of the Board of Trustees’ decision, there will be no changes before June 2026.
Provide your input
In the interest of transparency and family and caregiver engagement, the WRDSB will keep the public informed throughout this process. If Trustees approve the start of the New Southeast Cambridge Elementary School Boundary Review, parents, families and caregivers of WRDSB students will have opportunities to share their input through various community engagement opportunities, including:
- Attending public meetings and engaging with the consultation process and data collection opportunities
- Completing any surveys or forms distributed during the process
- Registering as a delegate at Board Meetings when decisions are being made
