How to Register – Online Registration Form
After you submit the form, you will receive an email from your school for next steps.

Required Documentation
Once a registration appointment with the school has been booked, you will need to bring the following documents to the school to complete your registration:
- Proof of Address: Current utility bill, proof of Ontario Property Assessment Notice or lease agreement.
- Proof of Birth (original documents only – copies are not permitted): Birth Certificate, Canadian Passport, birth registration, citizenship card or certified statement of live birth.
- Proof of Custody (if applicable): Custody orders, court-ordered Guardianship
- Immigration documents where required
- School documents: recent report card or school leaving certificate (elementary and secondary only)
Student Immunization Information can be submitted to Region of Waterloo Public Health. Do not share Student Immunization Information with the WRDSB.
New to Canada?
If the student is new to Canada or attended a French language school in Canada, your first step is to confirm if an assessment is required at the WRDSB Welcome Centre.
If you are a temporary resident in Canada (e.g. work permit, study permit, visitor visa), please visit the International Families page to start the registration process.
How to Find My School
Use the School Finder tool to enter your home address. Select WRDSB (the public board) as your school board, and select your student’s grade to see which school they will attend.

Grade Placement
Please note: In Ontario, students are placed in a grade based on their year of birth. Use the following chart to determine which grade your student will attend.

Student Transportation – Riding the School Bus
Transportation eligibility is determined by Student Transportation Services of Waterloo Region (STSWR). Please direct all inquiries or concerns about transportation to STSWR directly.
