As winter settles in and families spend more time indoors, small seasonal habits can help protect both health and safety of your child. Paying attention to indoor air quality and staying offย of stormwater ponds are two simple ways to support student wellbeing through the colder months.
Learn more about:
Improving indoor air quality at home
Replacing home air filters helps reduce dust, allergens, and other pollutants that build up when homes are sealed for winter. Cleaner air supports better sleep, focus, and respiratory health for students. WRDSB monitors indoor air quality in schools, and healthy home practices help keep students feeling their best throughout the day.

Stormwater pond winter safety
Stormwater ponds are not safe for skating or winter play. These ponds collect runoff mixed with salt, and water levels change during freeze and thaw cycles. Ice can look solid but remain dangerously thin. Many students pass stormwater ponds on their way to school, and awareness helps prevent serious accidents.
