The Waterloo Region District School Board is seeking applications for the position of Supply Secondary School Supervision Monitor.  The successful applicants for these positions will be working on an “on call basis” at various Secondary Schools within the Waterloo Region District School Board, during the 10 month school year.

The successful candidate will provide supervision support and will work with school administration and other school staff to carry out this assignment; primarily the monitoring of and dealing with student activity in the school building and on school property. This involves dealing with conflicts, trespassers and student behaviour.

Rate of pay is $16.70/hr.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of a high school diploma with preference to candidates with post-secondary academic qualifications
  • Preference will be given to candidates who have graduated from a Community College program in Law & Security or a related field
  • Experience working with High School age adolescents in a supervisory capacity in settings such as group homes, service clubs, detention centres, care facilities for adolescents, mental health facilities, et
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with staff and students and possess conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to stand and walk for long periods of time and frequently climb one or more flights of stair
