On November 8, 2014, parent members of the WRAPSC and PIC Committees attended the People For Education Conference ‘Making Connections’ at the University of Toronto. The keynote speaker, Paul Tough, author of ‘How Children Succeed’, shared his research that indicates character skills, such as perseverance, curiosity, optimism and self-control, matter most in long-term success in life. Other conference sessions attended focused on inclusive schools, money, school councils, special education, mental health, digital communication, community schools, education funding and sex-ed.

Check out the Parent Resources/Links page for a more complete summary of the resources and sessions attended at the Conference.
