Student Writing with Storybird

This video from the WRDSB Digital Learning Symposium, features secondary teacher librarian Jen Taylor and teacher Abbey Gingerich sharing their experiences using  Storybird, a web based application, to motivate and encourage students to create and share original, thoughtful and artful pieces of writing.

This particular session reflects experiences with:

a) grade nine students in the areas of the learning spaces, professional learning, teacher collaboration, library orientation, research databases, mobile technology, leveraging several of the Google Apps tools (now G Suite) and student engagement.

b) a cross panel reading buddy program

As part of your reflection, take some time to learn more about this tool and consider ways to inject new approaches into the writing process.
