Secondary Accommodation Committee (SAC) and Elementary Accommodation Committee (EAC)

SAC and EAC is a forum for school administrators to bring forward accommodation issues identified through their respective Waterloo Regional Elementary Administrators (WREA) or Secondary School Principals (SSPA) associations. SAC and EAC reviews and discusses elementary and secondary accommodation needs, and Ministry and Board initiatives or mandates to ensure that our facilities are designed, built, maintained and/or renovated to support the educational program with due consideration for system priorities related to accessibility, safety, equity, operational efficiencies, system standards and best practices.

Also provide input on capital budgets, general design parameters, school building elements – e.g. administration areas, special needs and purpose-built spaces, elementary “pods”, physical education facilities inside and out, curriculum changes/direction such as Design and Tech, early learning kindergarten program, school-to-work, etc, and timing and staging to ensure that facilities meet the needs of schools.

Sustainability Steering Committee (SSC)

The SSC will ensure accountability and organizational support for sustainability initiatives (academic, operational and administrative). The Committee will focus on enhancing synergies between Facility Services, Learning Services and site-based efforts to support and develop sustainability at the Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB).

Priorities will be to support, promote, develop and focus efforts to foster productive working relationships and synergies among the system by discussing Facility Services and school-based sustainability initiatives.  This includes aligning system efforts with grassroots strategies and finding ties to curriculum to develop momentum for staff and student sustainability efforts.

Will also set direction striving for continuous improvement, review current practices and establish coherent communication pathways that are reciprocal in nature and align with the WRDSB goals and aspirations.

Sustainability Working Group (SWG)

The SWG will support, promote, develop, and focus efforts to foster productive working relationships and synergies among the system by discussing Facility Services and school-based sustainability initiatives. This includes aligning system efforts with grassroots strategies and finding ties to curriculum to develop momentum for staff and student sustainability efforts.

To inform, consult, and collaborate among a broader group of interdepartmental staff that otherwise would be challenged to meet to develop joint strategies.

This includes setting direction, striving for continuous improvement, reviewing current practices, and establishing coherent communication pathways that are reciprocal in nature.
