Project Planning

The goal of CATC Camp is to help you as a teacher develop ideas and competencies to leverage technology for student learning.

Use the following filters to help you connect what you are doing at camp to what you are doing in the classroom.

Start either with Curriculum & Instruction OR with Technology Enabled Learning . You decide what methods works best for you.

Approach One: Curriculum & Instruction

  • Start by thinking of the curriculum-related task you want to focus on with your students (Is it a…)
  • Define the task further (Is it for…)
  • Connect the task to the technology purpose, as described in the first chart. We’ve helped you by identifying major categories.
  • Consider how technology use connects to  Problem Solving, Communicating Thinking, Assessment for Learning, Collaboration, Inquiry, Small Group Instruction, and Differentiation

Approach Two: Technology Focus

  • Start by thinking about the purpose for using technology – how it might enrich learning for your students.
  • Consider tools that are rich in framing a deep and/or longer-term learning experience. These are tools where you may want to invest the majority of your own professional learning at CATC Camp. It is from these tools that you will select your starting point for the CATC Camp experience.
  • Consider other tools that can be used for the purpose, but require less time commitment and might be used for shorter instructional tasks. These are tools that you might want to explore at CATC Camp, but that will require a less significant investment of your time.
