The Waterloo Region District School Board (WRDSB) is looking for our 2022-2023 Student Trustees.

Every year, the WRDSB elects two students who will represent student voice at the Board table and at various committees to advocate on behalf of students. Each Student Trustee participates in every Board meeting and various committee meetings, speaking as one of two student representatives for WRDSB. They organize and facilitate student-led meetings, which allows them to connect and gather student voice from across the board. On a provincial level, they can participate in the conversation and connect with Student Trustees from other Ontario school boards.

Student Trustees are committed to:

  • Upholding Human Rights and equity at all times
  • Advocating for all students, especially those that experience marginalization
  • Ensuring that there are ongoing conversations, using a variety of tools to communicate with students
  • Working and collaborating with students, staff and Trustees

Interested in applying?

The current term ends in June, and we need to elect two students to take on these roles. If you are a current full-time Grade 10, 11 or 12 WRDSB student that is returning next year, then consider applying.
