The Waterloo Region District School Board congratulates Waterloo Region Police Chief Matt Torigian on his new appointment as Deputy Ministry of Community Safety with the Ministry of Community Safety and Correctional Services.  Waterloo Region has enjoyed many years under the leadership of Chief Torigian.  He will take his exceptional skills to this new role effective June 8 2014.  The WRDSB has worked on countless collaborative projects with Chief Torigian to support the learning environment for all students and staff while ensuring community safety and all partnership potential is realized.  The WRDSB will continue to support Chief Torigian in all aspects of his provincial work.
