OYAP Program Details
All OYAP programs are designed to offer students specialized training, that provides the foundations required to transition from high school into college, university, an apprenticeship or the workforce. Whether a student is thinking of going into engineering, architectural design, sales, human resources, management or a trade, practical hands-on experience in any technological education program will give them the foundations they need to build upon their career.
What type of students should consider attending a Technological Education program? One of the misconceptions about technological programs in high school is that they are not for students who excel academically. THIS IS A MYTH! Many OYAP students have entered college, university or an apprenticeship once graduating from high school; in fact, some students not only completed an apprenticeship, but continued their education by attending university for engineering, architechure and business.
What do Technological Careers have to offer? Technological careers offer, just that... A CAREER! Many students who start in a technological career advance into supervisory positions, management, sales and/or ownership. Technological careers offer jobs:
-
Where every day is different
-
There is opportunity to travel
-
Technology is always changing and advancing
-
Requires problem-solving, math and science skills
-
Great pay!
There are three types of specialized OYAP programs that help students learn the transferable skills required to enter a technological career. For more information about these programs click one of the links below:
